GLYN-COCH-STUDIOS
We have a flock of rare Norfolk Horn sheep. They were used by Flemish weavers in NOrfolk in 1300 to invent Worsted cloth. The same people came to Pembrokeshire to set up the Welsh woollen industry and it seems likely that they would have brought Norfolk Horns with them. We sell the wool and I have also used their wool to make various items including knitted hats and scarves, felt brooches and kits. The kits include needle felting and knitting peg looms.

MARIA'S WORKSHOP
Original handmade items – shawls wraps handbags and accessories.
Marias Workshop is a young business started by Maria Val Loureda, originally from Galicia, the Celtic heart of Northern Spain but now living in Carmarthenshire, South Wales. It specialises in handmade shawls, wraps, handbags and accessories.
Inspired by the similarities between South Wales & Galicia, where traditional crafts are passed down through the generations, Maria's Workshop produces a range of handmade items elegantly fusing the creative souls of these cultures.
Maria designs every item that she produces, visualising every piece as it is created, and never uses any form of pattern. She loves experimenting with unusual materials and combinations, to produce unique creations that flatter all ages.
All of Maria's wraps, scarves and shawls are designed individually using a wide range of materials, including luxurious cashmere, silks and welsh mohair.
When you buy from Marias Workshop, you will become the owner of a one-off original item.
New for 2010 is Maria's range of kimono scarves, wraps, shawls and bags lovingly created by hand using genuine vintage kimono panels.

LEATHERWISE
Penny started her career at Reading College of Art & Design, where she soon discovered her thirst for the ‘hands on’ approach of design & make. Ian had worked in the leather industry making shoes and, later, furniture.
Penny & Ian combined their skills, and on moving to Wales in 1988, began to sell their quality hand crafted products
Their creations are designed and made from the very highest quality, soft leather, making them very tactile. Once Penny has designed an item a pattern is made and Ian then cuts the leather by hand. Penny assembles each creation utilising the strongest nylon bonded thread
Most of the leather is acquired as off-cuts for manufacturing companies. This helps not only to keep the cost at a minimum, which is reflected in our pricing, but it is also eco friendly.
